If you're a frequent player of the South Dakota Lottery, and you have the propensity for winning, you'll be happy to hear this news. Lottery players are now able to claim their lottery winnings online thanks to a new mobile cashing app.

The South Dakota Lottery just rolled out a new mobile app that allows players to claim qualifying prizes through an app.

Dakota News Now reports that prior to the app, winners needed to claim prizes over $100 in person at validation centers in Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, or by mail.

Those days are now in the past, thanks to this new mobile app. Lottery players can now claim instant and lotto prizes from $101 to $5,000 via mobile cashing, with prizes delivered through Automated Clearing House transactions.

Here's how it works:

  • Players open the South Dakota Lottery official mobile app, which is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Players scan a scratch or lotto ticket with a qualifying prize.
  • Complete a digital claim form to complete the claim.

It's that easy.

According to Dakota News Now, those choosing to use the mobile cash function will need the latest version of the South Dakota Lottery app and must enable camera permissions.

The South Dakota Lottery is hoping to have all mobile app claims completed within four business days, however, your first mobile prize claim will take longer, more like eight business days due to a bank account verification process that needs to be completed.

Here's another cool feature of the app, players are able to check the status of existing and previous claims through the My Claims page.
