If you live in Minnesota, Iowa or South Dakota, what sandwich do you think represents your state?

A new list from Mental Floss takes a look at the most popular sandwich in every state and answers that question.

According to the data featured by Mental Floss...

Minnesota's favorite is the turkey sandwich.

Minnesota is actually one of seven states where the turkey sandwich came out on top.

The article points out that Minnesota is also the nation's largest turkey-producing state, raising more than 33 million turkeys annually.

Iowa goes in a different direction.

The state's top sandwich is the roast chicken sandwich, which it shares with Kansas.

That's a pretty solid choice, although many Iowans might argue that the famous pork tenderloin sandwich deserves a spot at the top.

And then there's South Dakota.

According to the list, our state's favorite sandwich is the BLT: bacon, lettuce and tomato.

Simple, classic and hard to argue with, especially when the bacon is nice and crispy.

The nationwide results include plenty of interesting choices.

Grilled cheese tied with turkey as one of the most common favorites, while pastrami on rye topped the list in several states.

Other regional favorites included Philly cheesesteaks, lobster rolls, Cuban sandwiches and po' boys.
