South Dakota Children’s Museum Celebrates A Lunar Life Liftoff
If you've ever wondered what life is like on the moon, you're not alone. If you're a parent who has tried to answer your kids' questions about the moon, you're not alone either. Now, you can both find some answers to those questions at the Children's Museum of South Dakota.
Dakota New Now is reporting that a brand new exhibit at the museum is unlocking some of the secrets of being an astronaut on the moon and you and your family are invited to explore it.
"Lunar Life Liftoff" is coming up on Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 7 PM at the Children's Museum of South Dakota at 521 4th Street in Brookings.
During this free special event, kids will find out things like how astronauts eat, exercise, grow vegetables, mine for materials, and more. Your kids will be playing and you'll both be learning!
During this awesome fun event you'll be able to:
- Create straw rockets in the Art Studio
- Set off water rockets on the outdoor prairie area
- Learn how to moonwalk
- Watch a documentary about the Lunar Life exhibit
- Listen to the book You Are Going about NASA's Artemis campaign that is exploring the moon
- Talk with the exhibit designers from SDSU and find out what it takes to create a museum exhibit
- Enjoy the "Rocket Quesadilla" Community Meal for $5 in Cafe Coteau
- Play in all the museum's exhibits
This is a perfect occasion to introduce your "space-curious" kids to an out-of-this-world experience.
