There is just something about motorcycles, open roads, and a great cause that makes for the perfect summer event. And on Saturday, June 6, animal lovers and motorcycle enthusiasts alike can ride for a reason during the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society’s “Cruisin’ for Critters” Poker Run.

This fun-filled motorcycle ride is more than just a chance to enjoy a beautiful South Dakota day. It is an opportunity to help homeless animals right here in the Sioux Falls area find safety, care, and eventually loving forever homes.

The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society works tirelessly year-round to provide shelter, medical care, food, and compassion to thousands of animals in need. From abandoned pets and strays to animals rescued from difficult situations, the organization serves as a safe haven until those furry friends can be adopted into caring families.

Event Details You Don't Want to Miss

Now, the community has a chance to support that mission while enjoying a little adventure on the open road.

The “Cruisin’ for Critters” Poker Run begins at J&L Harley-Davidson, where check-in takes place from 10 AM to Noon. Then it’s “kickstands up” at Noon as riders hit the road for a day of cruising, card collecting, and camaraderie.

Registration is $25 for drivers and $10 for riders, and every participant must register to join the fun. Each registration includes access to the full event, all route stops, and a poker hand for a shot at some great prizes.

And there are plenty of chances to win.

Prizes will be awarded for the best hand, second-best hand, third-best hand, and even the worst hand, proving that luck can work in mysterious ways.

Celebrate and Win: After Ride Activities

The excitement continues after the ride with card draws from 4:30 to 5:30 PM and prize presentations from 5:30 to 6 PM. Participants can also try their luck in the 50/50 raffle and browse an awesome silent auction packed with all kinds of items.
