Family Fun Night Kicks Off Summer

If you're looking for a perfect kickoff to summer with your family, this fantastic event might just be the ticket! Emily's Hope Family Fun Night & Fireworkz Show is coming up on Saturday, June 6, from 7 to 10 PM at the Tea Athletic Complex.

All you need to bring is your lawn chairs and blankets, pick a place to hang out, and enjoy the company of our communities. You don't even need to bring food with you, because when you get hungry, the Backyard BBQ Food Truck will be there, along with the SDSU Ice Cream Truck, too.

There will also be a bunch of fun activities going on throughout the evening. Your kids will find a bouncy house, an inflatable obstacle course, plus there will be classic yard games for everyone, like ladder golf, giant Jenga, and bean bags.

Spectacular Fireworks Display

When the sun sets, you'll be treated to a fantastic fireworks display put on by The Fireworkz Store. It will be the perfect ending to a perfect summer evening.

During the show, they will be passing buckets asking for a free will donation, with 100% of the proceeds raised going to support the mission of Emily's Hope.

Emily's Hope is dedicated to "removing the stigma of substance use disorder through awareness, education, and prevention, and removing financial barriers for treatment and recovery."

My Top 5 Favorite South Dakota Made Foods

As I was slicing a piece of cheese off my block of Dimock Dairy Colby cheese and boiling a ring of Bluebird Locker German sausage on the stove, I started thinking, "What foods is South Dakota known for?'

Then I realized the state is known for some of my favorite foods, are they're actually made right here in South Dakota!

So, I decided to search my cupboards and refrigerator looking for other South Dakota-made foods and came up with my Top 5.
