Tour Newly Built And Remodeled Homes In Sioux Falls This Weekend

Hey, if one of your favorite hobbies is walking through other people's houses and thinking, “I could definitely live here,” you're in luck.

The Sioux Empire Fall Parade of Homes continues this weekend, giving you a perfectly legitimate excuse to snoop around some beautiful homes throughout the Sioux Falls area.

The annual event, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire, takes place again this Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, from 1 to 5 PM each day.

And you don't have to be actively shopping for a new house to enjoy it.

Maybe you're thinking about building a new home in Sioux Falls. Maybe you've been staring at the same kitchen cabinets for the last 15 years and need some inspiration. Or maybe you just enjoy seeing how the other half lives.

Whatever your reason, the Parade of Homes is a great opportunity to get inside some newly built and newly remodeled homes and check out the latest trends in architecture, interior design, construction, and custom craftsmanship.

You'll find homes at a variety of price points, from more moderately priced options to some seriously impressive luxury custom homes.

You might find a kitchen that makes your own kitchen suddenly feel very outdated. There are custom features, high-end finishes, creative floor plans, impressive garages, and some pretty amazing outdoor living spaces on display.

For Sioux Falls-area homeowners, it's basically a giant collection of ideas for that next home project you've been dreaming about.

Thinking of taking the tour? There are a few rules to remember before you start.

Socks are required inside every home, so leave those bare feet at your home. Slip-on shoes are recommended because you'll be taking them off frequently. Restrooms inside the homes are off-limits, and food and drinks aren't allowed inside the homes on the tour.

If you see something you absolutely love and want to photograph, make sure you ask permission before taking pictures.

The Parade of Homes is happening Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 PM, so grab the family, a friend, or your favorite home-improvement buddy and go take a look.

You just might walk away with some great ideas for your current home.

Or you may walk away wondering why your house doesn't have a giant kitchen island or a garage that looks nicer than your living room.

Either way, it will be a fun way to spend an afternoon.

20 Things You'll Find In Every South Dakota Home

We have so many things in our homes. Some things are junk or half-used but others have great sentimental value to us.

Regardless of what an item means to us at the end of the day, I bet that most South Dakotans have these twenty items in their home; or at least most of us do.
