Sioux Falls Humane Society Hosting Microchip Clinic This Week
During this busy holiday season sometimes your pets take a back seat to all of the human celebrations. But the Sioux Falls Humane Society is here to make sure they stay safe through it all.
This Thursday, November 14 from 4 to 6 PM at the Humane Society they are holding a microchipping clinic. The first 50 microchips are being sponsored by Best Care Pet Hospital and are free. Microchips after that will be $20 plus tax.
Microchipping your pet is a safe and easy way to make sure your pet can be found should they inadvertently get out of your home during the holidays.
The microchip is inserted under your pet's skin and carries a unique identification code for your pet. It can be scanned by a vet or animal care provider and your contact details will come up.
For this event, cats must be in carriers, dogs must be on leashes and there will be an in-vehicle waiting line.
Microchipping pets is a responsible choice for pet owners. Unlike collars or tags, which can break or fall off, a microchip remains safely in place for life.
Shelters, vets, and animal control agencies widely use microchip scanners, making it an effective way to identify and recover lost animals. By microchipping, pet owners greatly increase the chances of a safe return if their pets go missing, offering peace of mind and security.
