A major nationwide recall has been issued affecting more than 3 million bottles of over-the-counter eye drops sold at popular retailers, including Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Harris Teeter, and Publix.

The recall includes multiple products and formulations, raising concerns among consumers who regularly rely on these items for dry eye relief and irritation.

The FDA issued a Class 2 recall which indicates that using any of these affected products could cause temporary adverse health consequences.

The eye drops being recalled were sold under brand names including:

  • Artificial Tears
  • Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops
  • Ultra Lubricating Eye Drops
  • Soothing Tears

According to the recall notice, the affected products include:

  • 182,424 bottles of Sterile Eye Drops AC sold at Walgreens and other retailers
  • 303,216 bottles of Eye Drops Advanced Relief sold at Walgreens, Kroger and CVS
  • 1,023,096 bottles of Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops sold at Harris Teeter and other retailers
  • 245,184 bottles of Ultra Lubricating Eye Drops sold at Harris Teeter, Walgreens and CVS
  • 378,144 bottles of Sterile Eye Drops sold at Walgreens, Kroger and Harris Teeter
  • 315,144 bottles of Sterile Eye Drops Redness Lubricant sold at Walgreens
  • 74,016 bottles of Sterile Eye Drops Soothing Tears sold at Walgreens
  • 589,848 bottles of ArtificialTears Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops sold at Publix and Kroger

Consumers are advised to stop using these products immediately and check packaging details against recall information. Anyone experiencing eye irritation, infection, or other symptoms should seek medical attention promptly.
