Here we are again, summertime. While it's great that Sioux Falls can take a break from our nine months of tundra living, it's not all pools and patios.

We are lucky enough not to have to put up with the humidity of places like Louisiana or the desert heat of Arizona, but inside our cars, it can still get hot, too hot for a child or a pet left in a car. To really get an idea of how fast a car can get super hot in the summer sun, check out these two videos.

The first one is from the sheriff's department in Sarasota, Florida. They put a thermometer in a car so we can see the numbers as they rise.

Deputy Ray Vileck got into the police vehicle and turned off the A/C and engine. The outside temp was 97 degrees, and inside it started at 94. It only took about four minutes for the temperature inside the vehicle to hit 100, and in less than ten, it was 107 degrees.

In the second video, YouTube user tbartley269 takes it upon himself to demonstrate what it's like in a hot car. Don't try this at home, but see how it goes for him. He got in, shut the doors, and turned on the camera.
