Want to do something good for your neighbors and have a little fun while you're at it?

Feeding South Dakota is bringing a brand-new event to Sioux Falls during Hunger Action Month.

On Tuesday, September 29, Feeding South Dakota will host its first-ever Volunteer-a-Thon, bringing people together for a full day of volunteering, food, music and community spirit.

The event will take place at Feeding South Dakota’s Sioux Falls location, 4701 N. Westport Ave.

Volunteers will spend the day helping pack, sort and prepare food that will eventually make its way to South Dakotans facing hunger. But this isn't your typical volunteer shift.

The theme is “Delivering Through the Decades,” so participants will take a musical journey through different eras while they work.

The Volunteer-a-Thon is part of Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort designed to bring attention to hunger and encourage communities to take action.

Feeding South Dakota works with communities across the state to help provide food to people and families who need it.
