Who made Taste of Home the judge and jury of the Best Easter Recipe in Every State, including ours?

Who cares?! They know their food and they get and try the recipes from home cooks all over the country.

If you have a question, or comment, on a recipe, they have a community of people, (I guess that would be all of us) who will chime in!

If you're not aware of just how delicious the recipes of Taste of Home contributors are, you should pick a category and give it a go, sometime!

Casseroles, all kinds of bread, an entire slow-cooker category, main dishes, side dishes, vegetables, every country on the globe, completely indulgent or healthy for you- -they have millions of delicious recipes.

If you're like me you'll store your favorite, "I'm going to try this" recipes, in your personal recipe box. Some will become regulars (especially on certain holidays), others won't.

Once again this year (2022) Taste of Home has chosen our friend, and fellow Sioux Falls resident, Linda Tom's  Apple-Rhubarb Bread, as the "Best Easter Recipe in South Dakota". Linda has won so many baking and cooking awards that we've lost track!

Her delightful recipe was one of her mother's best and she shared it with Taste of Home fans like me.

Now the statement that it is the "most popular Easter recipe in South Dakota" is probably debatable. But- I know Linda.

I know that her Christmas Jam has become a holiday tradition in our family. I know that being on her "friends who benefit from my love of cooking" list, is an absolute blessing. And I also know that if you try her simple recipe, you won't be disappointed!

Armed with all this knowledge, I'm going on a hunt for rhubarb. Happy Easter!

Food Network Shows That Have Been To South Dakota

Living here in the upper midwest we are don't end up on national TV shows very often. That's probably a good thing in the long run.

But it is pretty cool when something from South Dakota is on TV. Three shows from the Food Network family of shows have showcased South Dakota restaurants.

You may remember when Guy Fieri and Diners Drive-ins and Dives was in Sioux Falls in June of 2020 to visit some of our city's unique establishments.

A few years ago the Travel Channel Show Food Paradise visited Deadwood.

If you remember the 'golden age' of Foot Network, back when Rachel Ray was the queen of the channel, she took her show $40 a Day to Rapid City in 2005.
