
Study Says South Dakota and Iowa Are Dumber Than Minnesota
There are book smarts and there are street smarts. This study shows that as far as book smarts Minnesota is beating both Iowa and South Dakota.
This doesn't mean that everyone in the Hawkeye and Rushmore states is stupid.
It seems to point out that “income has an enormous impact on educational data.”
The folks at World Population Review ranked the intelligence of each state by using the following factors:
- IQ scores
- SAT scores
- ACT scores
- Percentage Of College Graduates In Each State.
Then an intelligence score is created for each state by determining the percentage-point difference between a state’s score and the national median score.
Minnesota came in #3 on the scale while Iowa and South Dakota showed up a bit down the list.
Here are the “Top-10 Smartest States 2023” with the highest average IQ points:
1. New Hampshire - 103.2
2. Massachusetts - 103.1
3. Minnesota - 102.9
4. Vermont - 102.2
5. North Dakota - 101.7
6. Wyoming - 101.7
7. Utah - 101.5
8. Washington - 101.5
9. Connecticut - 101.2
10. Nebraska - 101.2
14. Iowa – 101.1
18. South Dakota 100.7
