If you've craved a Chicken Bacon SmokeCheesy, an Albuquerque Turkey, or maybe a Chipotle Chicken sandwich ever since Schlotzsky's Deli left town over ten years ago, the wait is almost over.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader is reporting that Schlotzsky's plans to make a return to Sioux Falls in the spring of 2017. The new Schlotzsky's location will occupy part of the former Austad’s Golf building at 1501 W. 41st Street.

Schlotzsky's went through company wide bankruptcy during the mid-2000's, then, in 2011 formed a new partnership with Cinnabon to create an updated concept for the store. Known for their hot sandwiches, specialty pizzas, and wraps, Schlotzsky's always seemed to be well received in Sioux Falls when the previous 41st Street location was open.

Sioux Falls franchise owner Dustin Haber likes the old Austad's building location because of the great access it has sitting on 41st Street.

Haber recently hired a general manager for the new Schlotzsky's store and plans to hire roughly 50 employees beginning in March.

According to Haber, the new Schlotzsky's should be open no later than May, 1 (2017).
