New Proposal Could End Smoking at Concerts, Festivals, and Even Golf Courses
More restrictions on smoking could be coming to Sioux Falls if the city council signs off on a proposed new smoking ban being introduced Tuesday.
The proposal, if passed, would not allow smoking at all city owned property in Sioux Falls. That would include:
- Sioux Falls parks (not just during youth activities)
- Outside the Sanford Premier Center
- Golf courses
- Bike trails
- Major festivals such as Jazzfest & Riverfest.
- Library grounds
And it's not just cigarettes and cigars. The ban would also prohibit smokeless tobacco and all e-cigarettes.
The council will hear the proposal Tuesday.
