It's Halloween time, so what movie monster scares you the most? These are the scary movie villains that folks in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and other states find the most frightening.

According to a survey by Frontier Bundles, each state has its own pick for the most terrifying movie monster, and the results reveal some interesting regional fears.

Minnesota residents find Frankenstein the most frightening, sharing this fear with ten other states, including Arizona, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

The classic monster created by Mary Shelley continues to haunt the Land of 10,000 Lakes with its tragic tale of reanimated horror.

Over in Iowa, it's Pennywise from Stephen King's "It" that keeps residents up at night.

The shape-shifting clown terrorizes Iowans alongside folks in Nebraska, Utah, and West Virginia, proving that coulrophobia (fear of clowns) runs deep in the heartland.

Meanwhile, South Dakota residents are most terrified by Ghostface from the "Scream" franchise.

The masked killer resonates with South Dakotans and seven other states, including neighboring Wisconsin and Kansas. The slasher's unpredictable nature and iconic phone calls apparently strike a particular chord in Mount Rushmore State.

The survey reveals fascinating regional patterns in what scares Americans most.

From classic Universal monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula to modern horror icons like Ghostface and Pennywise, our fears are as diverse as our states themselves.

This Halloween, whether you're avoiding clowns in Iowa, reanimated corpses in Minnesota, or knife-wielding maniacs in South Dakota, there's one thing we can all agree on: movie monsters are still darn spooky!
