Lauren Bacall Dead at 89
Another entertainment icon has died.
TMZ.com is reporting that Lauren Bacall has died. According to reports, Bacall had a massive stroke Tuesday morning at her home.
The Humphrey Bogart Estate tweeted:
“With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall.”
Bacall was married to Humphrey Bogart from 1945 until his death in 1957."
Bacall first emerged as a leading lady in the Humphrey Bogart film To Have and Have Not in 1944. She made appearances in Bogart movies The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, and Key Largo, as well as comedic roles in How to Marry a Millionaire with Marilyn Monroe and Designing Woman with Gregory Peck.
Bacall also worked on Broadway in musicals winning Tony Awards for Applause and Woman of the Year.
Her performance in the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination.
