That means thousands of miles of beaches for swimming in the land of 10,000 lakes.

There are lots of styles of swimwear for those who are spending time swimming, boating, or sunbathing around the state.

But let's say you want to maybe show your patriotic style by sporting a flag bikini. Is that against the law in Minnesota??

The answer is...YES! Wearing An American Flag Bikini Is Technically Illegal!

NBC reported that wearing an American flag bikini is against the law.

Section 8, subsection (d), of the U.S. Flag Code, stipulates “the flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.”

Subsection (i) states: "The flag should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard.”

However, there doesn't seem to be any record of the police arresting anyone for wearing a flag bikini....
