City of Sioux Falls Gets New Logo
Sioux Falls debuted a new city logo on Tuesday morning.
Dakota News Now is reporting that after months of planning and creating, Sioux Falls finally has a new visual identity that will be used by several organizations.
According to Dakota News Now, the idea of creating a new logo for the city was first announced in May of 2019. At that time, the city discussed finding a firm to create a new branding logo for Sioux Falls.
The new community logo will initially be used by organizations like; the City of Sioux Falls, Experience Sioux Falls (formally known as the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau), Forward Sioux Falls, Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce), and the Sioux Falls Development Foundation.
Dakota News Now reports the new city logo will eventually be available for adaptation by other agencies. The plan is to have every organization that chooses to use the Sioux Falls city logo, be able to use their own respective logo, that can be part of a family under the Sioux Falls community logo.
Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, marketing and communications director, Jennie Doyen told Dakota News Now, "These new logos will send a message of unity that will help promote Sioux Falls to its own residents and to outside markets."
A firm out of Tennessee, called North Star Branding and Marketing, was contracted to create the new community logo that will be used as the new visual identity for Sioux Falls in its promotion and marketing efforts.
