SculptureWalk Sioux Falls Just Crowned Its 2026 Best Of Show Winner

If you've ever strolled through downtown Sioux Falls, you've undoubtedly noticed we have a fairly impressive outdoor art gallery on select streets throughout the city.

One of the sculptures on display downtown right now has officially earned bragging rights this week.

According to Dakota News Now, SculptureWalk Sioux Falls just announced the winner of its 2026 Best of Show award, and this year's top honor goes to "Exquisite Trio," a bronze sculpture created by contemporary artist Alicia Jones of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The 2026 SculptureWalk features more than 80 original works created by artists from Sioux Falls, the surrounding region, and communities across the country. For an entire year, these unique pieces transform the downtown area into an outdoor art exhibit, with sculptures positioned along the route between the Washington Pavilion and Falls Park.

SculptureWalk is one of those Sioux Falls attractions that's easy to take for granted because it's literally sitting out in the middle of the city. You can grab lunch downtown, walk toward Falls Park, do a little shopping, and suddenly find yourself standing next to a giant piece of art.

This year's winning sculpture, "Exquisite Trio," reflects Jones' artistic connection to nature and the landscapes of the Southwest.

Jones told Dakota News Now that she was thrilled to receive the award and especially proud that "Exquisite Trio" earned the honor because the piece had been "A long time in the making."

Sioux Falls residents and visitors can see the winning sculpture outside Marie & Marie Bridal in downtown. It will remain there through spring 2027.

And here's the really cool part: it isn't leaving the Sioux Falls city limits after that.

Each year, the city of Sioux Falls purchases the SculptureWalk Best of Show winner and adds it to the city's permanent public art collection. After the 2026 exhibit wraps up, the Sioux Falls Visual Arts Commission will determine a permanent location for "Exquisite Trio" somewhere in the city.
