The first thing you need to know is that this event is going to be a blast! Especially if you have a fur child you'd like to have a lot of fun with this Saturday. Plus you'll be supporting our fantastic Sioux Falls Humane Society.

"Bark in the Park" is coming up on Saturday, October 7, at  Pasley Park in Sioux Falls. Registration begins at 8 AM ($35 per person) and 10 AM is the start time for the event.

You can also pre-register ($35), buy a t-shirt, or just make a donation to the event all online.

Activities at "Bark in the Park" include the 3K and 5K Fun Run with participants getting a goodie bag and race t-shirt, with a prize for the Top Pledger. There will also be lots of vendor booths to shop before and during the event and all the pet contests kick off at 11 AM.

Pup games for fun prizes include:

• Doggie Musical Chairs: Be the first to get your dog to sit each round when the music stops!
• Prettiest Pooch: Best-dressed female dog
• Handsome Hound: Best-dressed male dog
• Best Trick: Best trick performed for our judges
• Furriest Friend: Dog that sheds the most fur in a fixed amount of time.
• Sloppiest Kiss: Dog that cleans their owner's face of peanut butter the fastest
