This event has become a holiday tradition in Sioux Falls, but it only comes to life when we all participate.

Once again this year, the Salvation Army Red Kettle Twenty Dollar Challenge is asking Sioux Falls residents to make a huge difference with just a $20 donation.

Every $20 that goes into a red kettle this Saturday, December 16, becomes 100 dollars. This is all thanks to the generosity of First Premier Bank, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and several anonymous donors.

The goal is to raise $75,000 in one day- -this Saturday, here in Sioux Falls!

The Salvation Army is a powerful community partner whose mission is to "do the most good, to meet the greatest need".

They do this by helping disaster survivors, empowering youth, fighting for justice, and helping others to overcome poverty - - year-round.

The Red Kettle Challenge is a real boost for the Salvation Army during the holiday season and all it takes is a whole bunch of us to make a true difference in our community by donating $20 which then instantly becomes $100!

So, just look for a Salvation Army Red Kettle and bell ringer this Saturday, drop in your $20 bill, and feel great about donating much more!

35 Movies That Take Place in South Dakota

When it comes to South Dakota and Hollywood, we've seen our fair share of films that have used our state as the backdrop for a number of productions over the years. They may not have always filmed here, but movie folk love to set stories here.

We're all familiar with the blockbusters like 1990's Dances With Wolves, 1959's North By Northwest, and more recently, 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. But our state's life on the big screen goes back nearly 100 years.

According to IMDb, it all started with Courtin' Wildcats, a 1929 film which, like so many of the 29 films on this list, is a Western set in the time before South Dakota became a state in 1889.

Fun things like Chislic, Kuchen, Al's Oasis, and don't get me started on South Dakota lingo.

On second thought let's talk about how we talk. Here are just a few examples of Words With Different Meanings In South Dakota:
