Three in Jail, One in the Hospital After Sioux Falls Shooting
The New Year literally started off with a bang, for a group of Sioux Empire residents early Wednesday morning.
KSFY TV is reporting that three people are now behind bars, and another in the hospital after a shooting New Year's morning shortly after 2 AM.
According to the report, police responded to a shots fired call near an apartment complex located on South Cleveland Avenue just south of East 18th Street on Wednesday (January 1).
Upon arrival, authorities received notification of a victim with a gunshot wound being admitted to a Sioux Falls hospital. After an investigation, police took three suspects into custody a short time later.
Sioux Falls Police Sergeant Robert Forster told KSFY, authorities arrested twenty-four-year-old Jorey Davis of Flandreau for aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm at a vehicle, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Also arrested were, 24-year-old Larissa Rederth of Sioux Falls, and 28-year-old Jeremy Davis of Sioux Falls.
Rederth was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a felon. While Davis was booked on aggravated assault charges.
KSFY reports the victim in the shooting was admitted to a Sioux Falls hospital with a none life-threatening injury.
Police have yet to release the motive for the shooting, along with additional details regarding the incident.
