
UPDATE: Sioux Falls Shooting Leaves One Dead And Another Injured
Authorities have released more details about the early Tuesday morning incident that shut down part of Marion Road between 41st and 44th Streets in Sioux Falls.
According to Dakota News Now, the situation stemmed from a shooting that occurred around 5:00 AM inside an apartment complex near 43rd Street and Larch Avenue. Police say they received several 911 calls reporting gunfire just after 5:00 AM.
When officers arrived, they found two victims. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw a suspect flee the apartment shortly after the shots were fired.
As a result, authorities closed off the area near Marion Road between 41st and 44th Streets, as well as another section of 41st Street between Marion Road and Cambridge Avenue, while they searched for the suspect.
Dakota News Now reports that investigators had credible information that the armed suspect might be inside a nearby building. To ensure public safety, the Sioux Falls Police Department called in its Emergency Response Team, SWAT, and Crisis Negotiation Unit to aid in the search.

Just after 8:30 AM, police located and arrested the suspect without further incident. The individual, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges.
Police emphasized that this was not a random act of violence; the individuals involved all knew each other before the shooting.
