The countdown is on for Super Bowl LII on February 4 (2018) at U.S. Bank Stadium, in Minneapolis, and the Minnesota Super Bowl host committee is looking for a few good volunteers.

Even though the big game is well over 200 days away at this point, KDLT News is reporting the Minnesota Super Bowl host committee is already busy lining up people who would love to volunteer during Super Bowl week.

The city of Minneapolis is having a 10 day Super Bowl festival leading up to the big game.

With all the different activities planned, the host committee is in need of numerous people who love the game of football, and are willing to come into Minneapolis to volunteer to be part of Crew 52.

Michael Howard, of the Minnesota Super Bowl host committee told KDLT News, “We are going to have about a million people come over the ten days and we can’t execute a safe and a successful Super Bowl without the help of our volunteers. Who are kind of that first point of contact greeting folks when they arrive from the airport and directing folks around town. We want folks who are excited about the Super Bowl, excited about football.”

According to the KDLT News report, already, around 200 South Dakotans have signed up to volunteer during the 10-day period.

Interested individuals need to know the Minnesota Super Bowl host committee is not in need of volunteer support inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday.

What they are in search of right now, are people who are friendly, warm, outgoing, and knowledgeable about Minnesota.

These individuals must be willing to be flexible and help in all areas. They must be at least 18 years old at the time they apply, and, must be able to commit to a minimum of three shifts. Volunteer shifts will range from 4-6 hours in length, and, will happen from January 27 through February 4 (2018).

Interested individuals will be asked to fill out a volunteer application.

Face to face interviews with people wishing to volunteer will take place this fall. Those chosen will take part in Role Specific Training sessions during January of (2018).
