Are You Brave Enough to Take a Polar Plunge in Sioux Falls?
First of all, you have to be a hardy soul to live in South Dakota during the winter months. Secondly, if you just happen to jump into a pool full of cold water for a great cause, you're not only hardy but definitely brave!
The Special Olympics Polar Plunge is coming up this Thursday, January 18 at the Unify Center, located at 800 E. I-90 Lane here in Sioux Falls. This annual fundraiser is presented by South Dakota Law Enforcement as part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run events to benefit the Special Olympics.
Registration is at 5:00 PM and Plunging begins at 6:30 PM. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $100 and take a dip into the frigid waters.
You say you'd like to participate, minus the cold water plunge. You can still get in on all the fun! Simply register as "Too Chicken to Plunge" and get donations just like a regular Plunger. You will still get a T-shirt but you just don't have to jump into the water!
This is a great opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organizations to get together and support Special Olympics.
Also, maybe you don't want to plunge, but you do want to volunteer to help with the event, volunteers are always welcome.
