Sioux Falls Opens Tree Branch Drop-Off Sites After Storm Damage
If last weekend's storms left your yard covered in leaves, branches, or whole trees, the City of Sioux Falls is making cleanup a little easier.
Residents can take advantage of free tree branch drop-off sites every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, August 9.
Two convenient Sioux Falls locations are available:
• Chambers Street Site: 1015 E. Chambers St. (near the Household Hazardous Waste Facility)
• Lyon Boulevard Site: 200 Lyon Blvd. (south of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds near West 12th Street)
•
Keep in mind that these locations are only accepting trees and branches. Please do not bring root balls, leaf bags, or other yard waste.

Another option is Mueller Pallets, located at 46349 267th St. in Hartford, which is offering additional hours to help with storm cleanup.
The facility will be open from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, and Sunday, August 2, and accepts trees, branches, and other clean wood debris.
Regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
Not sure who is responsible for cleaning up a fallen tree? The City of Sioux Falls removes trees and large limbs that fall within the public right-of-way, including streets, boulevards, and sidewalks.
Property owners are responsible for trees and branches that fall on private property.
If you notice a tree blocking a street or creating a hazard in the public right-of-way, report it through the City of Sioux Falls website or the City of Sioux Falls app so crews can respond as quickly as possible.
