Acts of crime and violence are becoming more and more prevalent on a weekly basis inside South Dakota's largest city. It's the price we pay for being one of the fastest-growing communities in the U.S.

The city's latest act of violence occurred on Thursday night, June 26, when an officer with the Sioux Falls Area Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

The Task Force Crew was attempting to locate a suspect in the area of Bahnson and Rice streets. As Dakota News Now reports, in the process of making contact, the suspect took off on foot and ran to an acquaintance's residence.

While inside the home, the suspect produced a weapon, which resulted in a Task Force Officer having to fire his weapon at the suspect.
