Sioux Falls has caught the Little League Baseball World Series fever at the moment, as our own Sioux Falls boys are in Williamsport, P.A., right now representing the Midwest Division as they battle for a championship.

This is the fourth time the Sioux Falls team has qualified for the LLWS.

Speaking of our Sioux Falls boys, they received an experience of a lifetime on Sunday, August 17, as they got an opportunity to meet players from both the Mets and the Mariners.

And as you might imagine, our Sioux Falls Little Leaguers were stoked to meet these Big Leaguers in person.

According to Dakota News Now, on hand Sunday were some of Major League Baseball’s top stars, including Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Home Run Derby champion Cal Raleigh.

Sioux Falls pitcher, first baseman, and right fielder Maxen Snoozy told Dakota News Now, “I’ll meet anybody, they’re all cool. They’re Major League players. We all look up to them, and they’re all really cool!"

It ended up being a special day for both young and old alike on Sunday, as the Big Leaguers got the opportunity to watch some of the Little League games, and the Little Leaguers spent the night at the ballpark watching the Big Leaguers in action.

It's an experience that both sides will soon never forget.

If you're wondering if the Sioux Falls team is the only South Dakota Team ever to reach the Little League World Series?

The answer to that question would be no. Three teams from Rapid City advanced to the Little League World Series before Sioux Falls’ recent dominant run.

Dakota News Now reports that Harney Little League went 0-3 in 2011, and Canyon Lake was 0-3 in 2008 and 1-2 in 2014. Canyon Lake beat a team from the Czech Republic 5-3 for South Dakota’s first win in the tournament.

The Sioux Falls Little Leaguers are going to get to work on improving South Dakota's fortune in the series as they take the mound again on Monday night, August 18, against Connecticut. A team that has a reputation for being aggressive, with pitchers who have "electric arms!"

The Little League World Series in Williamsport continues through August 24th.

Best of luck to our Sioux Falls Little Leaguers. I know they will do the Sioux Empire and South Dakota proud!
