Two Sioux Falls Homes Hit with Multiple Rounds of Gunfire Friday
There was a scary situation to kick off the weekend in western Sioux Falls.
Two homes were targeted with gunfire in that region of the city on the evening of Friday, (December 15).
Dakota News Now reports the incident took place around 11:30 PM in the 6100 block of W. Chickadee Place. The police report states that two separate houses were shot at, one sustained three rounds of gunfire, while the other home was hit with five different bullets.
According to Dakota News Now, both homes were occupied at the time of the incident, but fortunately, none of the occupants were harmed as a result of the gunfire.
A police investigation is still underway at this time, currently, authorities believe the gunfire originated from a vehicle that was driving through the neighborhood.
Police told Dakota News Now they still do not know who is responsible for the shooting or if multiple weapons were used during the incident. It's also not known if both homes were the desired target.
Authorities are still in the process of attempting to gather further information from surveillance camera footage that was captured in the area to help identify the suspect or suspects.
