Sioux Falls to Kickoff Another Round of Construction Projects Thursday
Construction season is still alive and well in the Sioux Empire. And it looks like the city will be adding even more orange construction zone cones starting today.
Dakota News Now is reporting that Sioux Falls has several more construction projects kicking off on Thursday, (September 26).
Motorists should be prepared for a slowdown as they will have to contend with just one lane of traffic heading northbound on South Minnesota Avenue just north of 57th Street.
City maintenance crews will be repairing a water main break in that vicinity of town which should be completed by this evening's commute if everything goes as planned.
A street closure is also planned for Thursday on Bahnson Avenue. The area affected will be South Bahnson Avenue between 41st Street and 36th Street. Maintenance crews will be replacing a fire hydrant in that neighborhood which should be completed by the end of the day.
Then starting Monday, (September 30) crews will be shutting down North Ninth Avenue south of Hermosa Drive for approximately one week. Drivers should be advised that access south of the closure will not be available during that time. According to Dakota News Now, new utilities in the center of the street need to be installed.
As with every road construction project, the city wants to remind motorists in and around construction zones to please use caution and remember to reduce your speed while traveling through areas of construction. Finding alternate routes is also highly recommended.
