It really isn't a surprise that Sioux Falls made it onto this list again this year. The only surprise is that it isn't higher on the list. Wallet Hub compared 182 of the largest cities in the U.S. in a number of categories and Sioux Falls placed 20th overall for a best city.

Out of all the cities in the country, this is a pretty notable achievement. But I still think that with all our city has to offer, we should have placed higher.

Wallet Hub examined all these cities in 5 categories: family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socio-economic rank.

Within those categories, they checked out things like, weather conditions, air quality, commute times, and the number of recreation facilities like ice rinks, skate parks, theaters, etc.

Also, they looked at crime and unemployment rates, high school graduation rates, childcare costs, the cost of living, median incomes and so much more.

Where we live as children certainly influences who we are and who we become. These statistics from Wallet Hub simply give people a broader view of choosing where they may want to raise a family.
