Emergency Lane Restriction – East 26th Street

An immediate lane restriction is in effect on East 26th Street just east of Southeastern Avenue due to a water main break.

Traffic is reduced to one lane while City of Sioux Falls Public Works crews complete repairs. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area during peak travel times.

Traffic control is expected to be removed by the end of the day on April 28, 2026.

Utility Work – West 46th Street

Beginning Wednesday, April 29, West 46th Street will be closed between South Western Avenue and South Elmwood Avenue for sewer main work.

Access to nearby homes and businesses will remain open. If weather conditions cooperate, the project is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Lane Closures – West 12th Street Bridge

Starting Monday, May 4, the West 12th Street bridge near Grange Avenue will undergo repairs. Outside lanes in both directions will initially close, while two lanes of traffic remain open each way.

By late May, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately three weeks. Construction is expected to wrap up in late June 2026.

Intermittent Closures – East 18th Street & I-229

On April 28, beginning at 8:30 a.m., drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures near East 18th Street and I-229 as South Dakota Department of Transportation crews conduct drilling work.
