Sioux Falls Apple Tree Locations to Remain Open Through February
The New Year has brought a bit of good news for parents still searching for daycare providers here in the Sioux Empire following the announcement that the Apple Tree Childcare Centers intend to close by mid-January.
Dakota News Now reports that Apple Tree will continue offering its childcare services through the end of February.
At this time, Apple Tree owner, Randy Stewart is exploring options to possibly keep all four of the Apple Tree locations in Sioux Falls open long-term.
According to Dakota News Now, Stewart recently sent a letter to his clients notifying them of his plans to search for new owners for all four of the Sioux Falls childcare centers.
Word broke in mid-December that Apple Tree intended to close all of its Sioux Falls locations, leaving hundreds of people in the Sioux Empire in search of a new daycare provider.
Within days of Apple Tree's announcement, word also came out that Apple Tree West would remain open under new leadership. The name of the buyer's group purchasing the Apple Tree West location has not been announced yet.
The Dakota News Now story states the state Childcare Assistance Program is in place through the end of February and is anticipated to continue under new ownership starting on March 1.
Apple Tree opened up its first Sioux Falls preschool and daycare center in 1981. Since that time it's been providing daycare services to hundreds of children ranging in age from infant to the 5th grade throughout the Sioux Falls area.
