There's no denying that Minnesota has a lot going for it. It's the land of 10,000 lakes for crying out loud! (Actually over 11,800 lakes) That means all kinds of water activities are available, such as boating, kayaking, fishing, and more.

Trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and ATV riding span the state, and in the Twin Cities, 99% of its residents live within 10 minutes of a park. It really is a place of four-season fun.

And then there's that "Minnesota Nice" thing. According to Explore Minnesota, it's a reality in so many ways. Minnesotans are just a welcoming group of people.

For all of these reasons and many more, Minnesota landed in the Top Ten of Wallet Hub's latest study on the Most Fun States in America.

For this study, they considered a lot of factors, but were really interested in what gave residents of these states pure enjoyment at a price that wouldn't break their budgets.

There were two main categories that each state was compared in: Entertainment & Recreation and Nightlife.

Within those categories, they considered things like: weather, the number of restaurants, amusement parks, golf courses, and movie theaters per capita, also shoreline mileage, access to national parks, and more.
