Sioux Falls ‘Kum & Go’ Convenience Stores to Be Rebranded in 2025
Starting in 2025 the convenience store chain known as Kum & Go will have come and gone.
Dakota News Now is reporting that Kum & Go's new owner Maverik, and their parent company FJ Management headquartered in Utah are planning to rebrand the chain beginning next year.
The Kum & Go brand first started in 1963, since that time the chain has expanded to 400 convenience stores operating in 11 states primarily located here in the Midwest region of the country.
Most of their stores can be found in the previous ownership group's home state of Iowa.
In an article from CSPDailyNews, reasons for the name change include concerns over the inadvertent double entendre of the Kum & Go name, along with the vision Maverik CEO Chuck Maggelet has for the brand long-term.
Maggelet envisions growing the Maverik brand into a multi-regional brand to better compete with other convenience store chains like Casey's, Kwik Trip, and other well-respected brands throughout the Midwest region.
The Kum & Go brand is known for having a wide variety of convenience store fast food items like coffee, beverages, pizza, subs, snacks, salads, and of course gasoline.
At this time, there are seven Kum & Go locations here in the Sioux Falls market and nine total stores throughout the state of South Dakota.
