A Sioux Empire family has something extra to celebrate this upcoming New Year's Eve.
The Watertown Police Department says that 49-year-old Linette Lamotte of Watertown, South Dakota has been found safe thanks to the public's support.

Officials with the Watertown Police Department have confirmed with our news partners at Dakota News Now that Linette is back home and returned early Monday evening.
The initial report from Dakota News Now explains that Linette was originally from Nebraska and moved to South Dakota years ago. Here was the latest information available from social media posts when she went missing:
Linette was last heard from December 16th. She has been unhoused in the Watertown area for a few years. She is originally from the Marty area, she is enrolled with the Yankton Sioux Tribe.Her family is very concerned for safety and well-being as the holidays came and went with no word on where she was or if she was ok.
At the time of Linette's disappearance, the family stated that it was unusual for them not to have heard from her since Tuesday, December 16th. She calls regularly every few days to check in.
