Sioux Falls Mayor Enjoys Golf Round With Lady A's Charles Kelley

Believe it or not, there are fantastic golf courses throughout the Sioux Empire. Our very own Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken loves to play rounds of golf whenever he can. This past weekend, Mayor TenHaken got the unique opportunity to play golf with a big country singer.

Between the Sioux Falls Public Golf Courses, 59 holes put your golf skills to the test. In fact, Prairie Green Golf Course was named the "#2 golf course in South Dakota by GolfWeek Magazine in 2024." It's a competitive course that's in our backyard!

Aside from the humidity and some rain last week, Sioux Falls had beautiful sunny days, and golf courses were full of golfers. Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken decided to play 18 holes at Prairie Green Golf Course on Saturday with a very special guest: Charles Kelley from the country mega group Lady A! Mayor TenHaken shared a moment from the day in an Instagram post.

Why was country singer Charles Kelley playing golf with Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken?

Charles Kelley had a busy Saturday in the Sioux Empire. He was one of the guest performers at the 2025 First Dakota Pro Am Jam at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. So before he took the stage, he played a round of golf at Prairie Green Golf Course with Mayor TenHaken! According to Mayor Paul, Charles is pretty good, too!
