WINTER STORM WARNING - South Dakota...

Effective: 6 AM Tuesday to midnight Tuesday night Affected Counties: Mellette, Todd, and Tripp Affected Communities: Wood, Winner, Witten, Cedar Butte, Saint Francis, Hamill, White River, Ideal, Rosebud, Colome, Mission, Parmelee, and Norris.

Residents can expect:

  • Snow accumulations of 2-6 inches
  • Dangerous wind gusts up to 60 mph
  • Severely reduced visibility (potentially below 1/4 mile)
  • Hazardous road conditions affecting both morning and evening commutes
  • Possible tree damage from strong winds

Conditions may include:

  • Potential blizzard conditions with whiteout visibility
  • Up to 2 inches of snow accumulation
  • Wind gusts reaching 60 mph
  • Treacherous and potentially life-threatening travel conditions
  • Wednesday morning commute disruptions
  • Risk of tree damage
