Ever since I got my Traeger Wood Pellet smoker my motto has been, 'If You Can't Smoke It, Is It Worth Eating?" My wife claims I have crossed a line. And not a good one.

Over the holidays I was competing in a friendly family Lasagna cookoff. There were just 3 Lasagna's competing. So I knew that no matter what I was going to finish in the top 3.

So I decided to smoke a Lasagna. I'd never tried this before, but hey it's Lasagna that's smoked. What could be bad about that?

Not to leave anything to chance, I went nuclear on the cheese. I used Mozzarella, Parmesan, Cottage Cheese, Cream Cheese, & Cheesy Alfredo sauce.

I mixed all that Cheesiness with some diced onion, celery, tomatoes, & some browned Spicy Sausage. I smoked the pan of happiness for about 3 hours at +250 until it reached an internal temp of +170.

I'm not saying it came out fantastic, but when I opened the grill lid to pull the Lasagna off the Traeger, I actually heard angels sing. Loud, angelic stuff, the kind that means you done good.

And not to be all braggy and such...but that 5 cheese touch of heaven took 1st place.
