If you love the game of golf, unfortunately, here in South Dakota, we've reached that time of the year when you'll need to play inside or hop on a jet to somewhere that's still conducive to sneaking in a quick eighteen holes outside.

There is a bit of good news, however, for those of us golf lovers who are stuck in South Dakota for the next few months. Great Shots just re-opened its indoor driving range again.

Dakota News Now reports that the range has been under repair for several months due to wear and tear accelerated by drainage issues. Those issues have now been fixed, and now Great Shots has new turf to show off, along with a better drainage system.

In addition to their new state-of-the-art turf, Great Shot has introduced new food menu items, games, and some other fun surprises.

Golf Academy Manager Sam Vosler told Dakota News Now, “We also have new technology that’s on all the floors. And so, we have Trackman monitors, which are top-class, state-of-the-art launch monitors. So, for all skill levels, you have high-level players who can look at data points to help their club face angle, the launch angle. But you also have some new games that are really tailored toward the young kids. Your family’s coming out here.”

Those familiar with Great Shots, already know they have some of the finest cutting-edge golf simulation technology available, in a climate-controlled area that is perfect for those of us in need of a little golf fix during these bitter cold South Dakota winter months just around the corner.

Great Shots is open seven days a week near the Sanford Sports Complex off Westport Avenue and Benson Road.
