Authorities Arrest Alleged Shooter in Death of Sioux Falls Teen
Authorities have apprehended another suspect involved in the death of a Sioux Falls teen in early December.
17-year-old Devon Moses Montileaux is now in custody. Dakota News Now is reporting that Montileaux was recently arrested in Pierre by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Minnehaha County Fugitive Task Force.
Montileaux is being charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in connection with his role in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ephraim Duolo Shulue.
According to Dakota News Now, Shulue was shot and killed on (December 9) during a drug deal that turned into an attempted armed robbery.
Shulue, along with two other teens, 16-year-old Ali Khalifa Ahmed and 17-year-old Sembel Sale, entered a car containing Montileaux and another suspect. The report states they intended to sell them marijuana, but instead, attempted to rob both men at gunpoint. Once inside the vehicle, an argument broke out that ended in Shulue being shot and killed with a round that allegedly came from Montileaux's gun.
Dakota News Now reports that Ahmed and Sale are also being charged with murder. While they did not fire the bullet that killed Shulue, the two men are still being charged with involvement in the crime that resulted in his death.
Sioux Falls Police took Sale into custody and charged him with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and attempted robbery on (December 23). Ahmed was arrested three days later in Sioux Falls. He is being charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and first-degree robbery.
Police are still searching for another person of interest tied to the Shulue case. No additional details are being released at this time.
