One Sioux Falls young man is making it his mission to spread smiles and fun wherever his Mascot performances take him. Nick Ellerbroek, a Lincoln High School 9th grader, is the talent, energy, and emotion behind two well-known Sioux Falls mascots.
He's fuzzy, he's feathery, and he spends a lot of time making kids and adults in the Sioux Empire smile, along with his best buddy Cagey!
The Sioux Falls Canaries' mini-mascot Peep has been nominated for two Golden Reggy Awards, by the Mascot Hall of Fame. Peep is nominated for Minor League Best Video Short and also Minor League Best In-Game Skit.
This voting is 100% driven by the public and is to recognize great mascots, and mascot programs that are doing wonderful things in their communities. - Angela Ellerbroek
Peep, with assistance from the Sioux Falls Canaries Community Foundation, has made his goal to reach as many kids as possible, to let them know reading is so fun!
They have given away many books to kids at elementary schools and donated books to school libraries too. Peep's mission is his passion and he does it all with a great attitude and a big smile.
Nick also inhabits the personality of Great Bear Ski Valley's furry blue Flurry! And Flurry is also nominated for a Reggy in the category of Best Use of Brand/Corporate mascot.
You can help Nick win a Reggy Mascot Award just by visiting the Mascot Hall of Fame website to vote for Peep and Flurry every day through Tuesday, November 21.
