Winter Wonderland South Dakota Tradition About Ready To Light Up!

The Winter Wonderland at Falls Park has become a holiday tradition for thousands of people in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Every year people come from all over the nation to experience the holiday beauty of Falls Park in Sioux Falls.

Winter Wonderland at Falls Park invites everyone to enjoy the spectacle of thousands of lights, decorated trees, sparkling decorations, and Christmas music.

Winter Wonderland will light up nightly from November 17, 2023, until early January 2024.

To be more specific as to what the City of Sioux Falls workers do to make this FREE event happen every year...here are the stats of what they put up along the Big Sioux River in 2022.

According to Experience Sioux Falls:

355,926 total LEDs and Lights

270 Trees Decorated

275 Light Poles Decorated

25+ Miles of Light Strings

0.5+ Miles of Rope Lights

40+ Wreaths

Director of Parks and Recreation Don Kearney stated “For almost 20 years, Winter Wonderland is a holiday season staple in Sioux Falls.

We’re always proud to light up Falls Park for everyone to enjoy.

Every year, Winter Wonderland shines brightly and reflects the joy of the season for eight weeks.”

A Survival Guide For Your First Winter in South Dakota

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the rest of the Sioux Empire (AKA southeastern South Dakota) are welcoming thousands of new residents every year.
