What You Need to Know About the ‘Paint the Plows’ Event Saturday
Winter doesn't always bring out the best in all of us. Snow and bitterly cold winds have a tendency to make even the winter lovers among us, less than jolly, at times.
That, along with the desire to offer young artists an interesting canvas for their creativity, was the idea behind the "Paint the Plows" program. The City of Sioux Falls Street Maintenance Department wanted to give residents something to smile at when the plows were out.
The "Paint the Plows" program invites young artists in Sioux Falls to paint a City snow plow. The plows are then displayed for the public to view and vote for their favorite at the "Paint the Plows" event which is coming up this Saturday at the Levitt Shell parking lot from 9 AM to 3 PM, in downtown Sioux Falls.
The winning plows then go on to appear in the "Parade of Lights" on Friday, November 24.
Students who attend the "Paint the Plows" event can enter their names into a drawing for a chance to win a ride to school in a plow.
