What Is the Stand Up for Women Veterans Retreat All About?

The 2nd Annual Stand Up for Women Veterans Retreat is set to take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 909 West 33rd Street.

Although the number of women who volunteer to join the armed forces is increasing, the services and supports available to them are still largely designed for men.

The gaps in services for women veterans include health care, benefits, housing, homeless assistance, education, employment, and also suicide prevention.

This retreat is dedicated to honoring and supporting women who have served in the military. It's also a great opportunity for women veterans to connect with other women who have served, share their experiences, and receive valuable resources and support.

This free event (vendors will pay a fee to appear at the event) will feature a range of vendors and activities designed to promote well-being and support for women veterans, as well as opportunities for networking and camaraderie.

Brunch, as well as childcare, will be provided, so yes, you can bring your children!

Whether you are a woman currently serving or have served in the armed forces, you are invited to this retreat hosted by Community Action for Veterans (CAV) and the Sioux Falls Community Foundation. It promises to be a powerful and uplifting experience for all who attend.
