Two Sioux Falls men are in jail, staring at several different charges after pointing a gun at two other individuals, and then driving away.

KSFY TV is reporting the incident happened around 8:30 PM on Tuesday, February 14 (2017) near the 3000 block of South Mayfair Drive.

Sam Clemens, the Public Information Officer, with the Sioux Falls Police Department said, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were driving in the area where the incident occurred when they spotted a vehicle believed to have been loaned out and not returned.

According to Clemens, the two individuals were about to call and notify police when they saw a man get inside the loaned car. To ensure the person wouldn't get away, the two men parked their car in front of the car in question.

Once that happened, the suspect inside the loaned car stepped outside, went over to a different parked car where he was given a sawed-off shotgun by a second suspect, the first suspect then proceeded to allegedly point the shotgun in the direction of the two men inside the vehicle blocking the loaned car, causing them to speed away.

After fleeing the scene, the two men immediately called authorities and police were able to apprehend the two suspects in a second car near Marion Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard in southwest Sioux Falls.

At the time of the arrest, police found the shotgun, along with a syringe containing a meth residue inside the suspects car.

Authorities charged 31-year-old Nate Charles Selwyn for two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a controlled weapon, and possession of stolen property. Also taken into custody was 23-year-old Eric James Warren for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled weapon, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

According to police, both suspects are residents of Sioux Falls.
