This Minnesota National Park Might Be Most Beautiful In Nation
This 218,000-acre Minnesota National Park might be the best wilderness experience you could ever have in a lifetime.
If you would like the chance to experience the Northern lights, lush forests, crystal clear lakes, spectacular sunsets, eagles, fantastic fishing, and wonderful wildlife make the journey to Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota.
Namakan Lake is in Voyageurs National Park on the border of Minnesota and Ontario, Canada.
It links with other big lakes like Crane Lake and Lake Kabetogama. It has several miles of great fishing and pristine wilderness.
Over the years I've had the fortune and honor to traverse its waters and enjoy great adventures with many fine pals.
Voyageurs National Park was established in 1975. It is overseen and regulated by the National Park Service.
They help to maintain and preserve this treasured haven. Throughout the 1800s this was a destination for hearty hunters and fishermen.
In the early 1900s development had started on the islands and shores of these remote lakes and north-woods waterways.
Many summer homes popped up. These were getaways for the wealthy and elite. Many of the summer homes were only accessible by boat of fly-in airplanes.
Today this wilderness is widely accessible to the masses. There are access points where you can pull in, launch your fishing boat, pontoon, or houseboat, and enjoy all this remote wilderness has to offer.
The campsites inside the National Park are available by reservation only. Thus they are able to regulate traffic as to not overwhelm the local ecosystem.
