Price of Postage Stamps Is Going Up This Sunday
So much for that 2 cent decrease back in April 2016. According to USPS.com, the price of a first class stamp will increase by 2 cents, from 47 cents to 49 cents, on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
If you want to avoid the price increase, you can stock up on Forever stamps before Sunday. Forever stamps will never change in price.
The last time the price of stamps increased was January 2014. The price change does not include Postcards, or for letters being mailed to international destinations or for additional ounces for letters.
According to USPS.com, the Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
