Look, No Clothes! Sioux Falls Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure
One typically goes to the Empire Mall to buy clothes, not take them off. A Sioux Falls man seems to have forgotten that last Friday.
Dakota News Now is reporting that 23-year-old Joshua Cogley, of Sioux Falls, was arrested on two counts of indecent exposure on Friday, (November 1) after he put on a little strip tease show in the parking lot of the Empire Mall for two teenage girls.
According to Dakota News Now, the two young ladies notified police that a man had exposed himself to them while near his vehicle around 5:45 that evening.
The two teens captured the act on video and then turned the footage over to authorities.
Police were able to use the video footage from their phones to identify and eventually track down Cogley.
South Dakota law states that Gogley could face a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine if convicted on both counts.
Subsequent offenses of indecent exposure are usually elevated to felony status in South Dakota, resulting in jail time, fines, and the potential for sex offender registration depending on the severity of the case.
