South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has declared June "Great Outdoors Month" so grab a fishing pole and tent and get ready for adventure at your favorite state park and beyond.

2013 had record high numbers for campers and visitors attending South Dakota State Parks. Custer State Park and Lewis And Clark Recreation Area combined for 40% of the total number of visitors that came to the State Parks.

Summer is just about to come to an end!  And with our dog days weather cooler than normal, outdoor fun hasn't been too bad.  Don't let the calendar discourage you from making a camping reservation.  Take the kids and the dog to the river or your favorite lake site...
